It’s a simple concept, I know. Fingerprints to enhance the “touch” concept. But I think it’s really well done. I like the color usage, bright and vibrant, but not overwhelming. It’s simple and it’s attractive. Looks great on the white background generally used on the advertisement and collateral. I like it. :-)

Burlesque

I must say, I’m not a fan of pink, but this black and white poster with a touch of pink is really doing it for me! Regardless of whether Burlesque does well, they did a great job with the design. I love the sparkles on the lettering and I thought the font was a great choice. Gives it that motel sign look, yet -dare I say- the pink and rhinestones class it up. Just a touch. It is after all a burlesque show.

The Mural Project Does It Again!

Mt. Sinai Child, Adolescent and Family Services has a lovely new wall to look at thanks to the wonderful efforts of Jessica Perilla and The Mural Project. The wall was donated to the hospital with the help of generous volunteers, and was filmed for Pepsi Yo Sumo’s upcoming documentary on exemplary Latinos.

I’ve uploaded a few of my photos of the event, and will update this post as soon as Jessica uploads the official photos to her website.

Here Comes the Target Train!

Surely you’ve already seen or at least heard about the NYC subway train that has been completely covered in Target advertisements. Yes, COMPLETELY. All the subway ads inside, and literally the entire train is wrapped in “Target”. I’ve seen it a few times, but my not-so-trusty phone camera has been less than cooperative. Today, it decided to play nice and finally allowed me to snap a few pics.

I really love the long horizontal banners along the top, they have pictures of various hands holding on to the railing. And yes, it even comes with advertisements in Spanish! Ok, ok, “¡NY, Sí!” isn’t the deepest or most informative ad, but it’s there!

I’m still not entirely sure how I feel about the trains being wrapped in advertisement. I feel that this one was nicely done. There are different wrap styles for each car, and the ads inside aren’t too overwhelming. But how would I feel if the train was wrapped in “Jenny Craig” or “The Gap” or “Viagra”. Yeah, I hear the frat boys holding back a laugh as they picture the train entering a tunnel. Yes, I said it so you don’t have to! lol. But really… Not every campaign would work.

There’s also the flip side, if these wrapped trains helped pay for MTA budget gaps, and limit future price hikes, well, who would say no to that! Even if the train graphics were less that flattering.

I suppose that seeing a wrapped train once in a while wouldn’t be too bad. I remember back when they wrapped the 7 train to feel like a park. All the seats where wrapped to look like park benches and they had ceiling fans. That was fun. But having every train wrapped in something might become a bit much. I guess as long as Dr. Zizmor doesn’t have free reign over wrapping our trains, we’ll be fine…

This is a brilliant advertisement for Frontline Flea and Tick Spray! Just looking at it makes me itchy, lol. Way to own a space; it’s a great way to use people to add to your promotional piece. Job well done.
